Direct planting of pistachios

Pistachio harvest season in Yazd

Pistachio harvest season in Khorasan

We are going to the east of Iran. Of course, pistachio cultivation is more popular in the center and south of Khorasan province. Of course, Chinese pistachios in the cities of Ferdous, Sarbisheh and Qain in South Khorasan province usually end in early October.

Harvest season in Kerman

But the pistachio gardens of Rafsanjan are more famous. Shahrbabak, Sirjan, Zarand and the city of Kerman are other pistachio growing cities in Iran. Most of Iran’s pistachio collection and export terminals are located in this province. In many cases, some of this fruit is picked unripe in these cities to be eaten fresh and sent across the country.
For this purpose, from the last weeks of August, the fruits that are still wearing their soft cover are separated from the tree and sent to different places. Chinese pistachios in Kerman, like many other pistachio-growing cities, last until mid-November.

Harvest season in Damghan

Zarandieh and Damghan are other areas of cultivation of this fruit in Iran. In parts of Semnan and Central provinces, due to the colder weather there, the picking of this fruit starts from the middle of September and usually continues until the end of October.
